AI is changing the world of work: Focus on human judgment
AI is increasingly being integrated into companies and research institutions, thereby fundamentally changing the way it works. One example of this is Anthropic, which uses AI systems in its company to optimize work processes. The focus will be on human judgment to ensure the quality and relevance of the results. This trend shows how AI is understood not only as a tool, but also as a complement to human work. At the same time, responsibility is increasing, especially with regard to the accuracy and security of AI systems. A German court, for example, has held Google responsible because wrong AI answers can cause harm. This highlights the need to carefully monitor and regulate AI systems. In IT security, AI is also seen as a crucial factor, especially in the age of agent cyberattacks. The secIT theme day in December addresses these challenges and discusses solutions. At the same time, AI use in research is viewed critically. For example, the mathematics community is boycotting OpenAI after mass publications of AI-generated mathematical evidence, as this is expected to affect research. These developments show that while AI is changing the world of work, it also raises new challenges and ethical questions. Companies and research institutions must therefore address these issues and find solutions to take advantage of AI without neglecting human competence. In this context, it is important to design AI systems to strengthen, not replace, human judgment. This approach is also supported by xynap by helping companies integrate AI into their work processes and strengthen human judgment.
