The development of a self-organized AI supervisory authority by Google, OpenAI and Anthropic is becoming more and more concrete. The three tech giants are working on a platform designed to set ethical standards for AI development and application. This is about transparency, responsibility and ensuring that AI systems are used in the interest of society. The planning includes not only legal frameworks, but also practical measures for controlling and monitoring AI models. The idea is to create an independent entity with an eye on the development and deployment of AI technologies and, if necessary, take action to minimize risks. The concrete implementation of the idea is currently being discussed, whereby the participation of external experts and organisations could play a central role.

The call for an AI regulator is part of a broader discourse about tech companies’ responsibility in AI development. In Germany and Europe, the importance of regulation and ethical use of AI is increasingly being recognized. The union of bank employees, for example, calls for relief days for employees, as the increasing use of AI in the banking industry increases the workload. At the same time, the acceptance of AI systems in companies is promoted by measures such as rebranding. Rewe digitally improved the use of their AI chatbot by restructuring the chatbot and creating a better user experience.

The discussion about AI regulation and use is also important in terms of data protection and data security. Many users are looking for alternatives to international cloud providers such as Google Drive or iCloud to secure their data in Europe. This reflects an awareness of the risks that can be associated with the use of global AI systems. At the same time, the need for transparent and responsible AI use is becoming increasingly clear. AI systems must not only be used efficiently, but also ethically and safely.

In this context, the role of AI assistance functions and ethical AI use is crucial. xynap promotes the ethical use of AI and helps users to do more than just by integrating AI assistance functions.
