AI Agents: Writing Emails to Researchers Opportunities and risks

AI agents are increasingly used in communication to independently write emails. In some cases, they even send messages to researchers to communicate about projects or services. This automation can increase efficiency, but it also brings risks, such as inaccurate information or lack of control over content. Some examples show how AI systems are used in practice – both in research and in everyday communication processes. For example, mountaineers use AI to plan their expeditions, but this can lead to unexpected dangers if the information is inaccurate. In Germany, the AI strategy is strongly focused on research and application, which promotes the use of such technologies as part of a responsible implementation. WhatsApp is also moving forward by making it possible to communicate with people without their own account – a step that extends the reach of Messenger. Although AI systems offer many advantages, it is crucial to integrate them into a controlled and secure framework to minimize risks and ensure the quality of communication.
